CBBG SLC Professional Development Workshop
Abstract: Impostor Syndrome is a psychological phenomenon where individuals may feel like an intellectual fraud. Fear of being “caught” and a sense of not belonging can detract cognitive processing from more productive pursuits. After a general description of phenomenon, this presentation will highlight results from collection of research studies demonstrating the impact of Impostor Syndrome on many high-achieving individuals. The presentation will close with discussion of strategies for handling and potentially overcoming Impostor Syndrome.
